It wasn’t until the launch of the Air Jordan XX9 ‘Year of the Goat’-released in February 2015-that the silhouette took advantage of its full woven upper, a first for any performance basketball shoe. While the woven construction is inspired by Italian tailoring, the actual design is more reminiscent of a painted canvas. The lightweight upper is supported by FlightPlate, a new pebax moderator plate that houses the Zoom Air directly below the foot for more responsive cushioning.
